I initially tried to use this with 4 AA 2400Ni-MH batteries, but these have a slightly larger diameter than standard AA batteries and I was unable to close the door without undo force. By leaving the battery door off I was able to get my iPaq to charge with the Ni-MH batteries. Using standard Alkaline batteries worked very well.
I was hoping to use the unit as a battery-extender, for watching movies on my iPaq (1930), however this did not seem to work. The unit was plugged in and the red light was on, but the iPaq did not get any power from the unit.
