(More customer reviews)The Q1 Ultra docking station is more a battery charger than a docking station, but it does deliver in both areas. The power cord connects into the back and there is a power plug on the right hand side that engages with the Q1U. You just slide the Q1U from left to right and the power plug fits nicely. I also purchased the 6-cell battery and the Q1U fits into the docking station with either battery. You can also place a second battery into the top of the docking station and charge both batteries at once, which is a great feature when you know you will need more than one battery.
The docking station is just a USB hub. So you can plug a keyboard and mouse (3 USB ports in all) into the docking station to create a desktop environment. The docking station has a USB cable in the back that just reaches the top of the Q1U when engaged. Simply plug the USB cable into the top USB port on the Q1U and you're ready to go. Connecting a monitor or Ethernet cable is possible, albeit less convenient, but hardly necessary if you can use the 7" screen and wireless.
For me, the docking station will mostly serve as a battery charger, so I don't think it's worth the price. That is the reason for my three-star rating. If it was half the price I would have given it a higher rating.
