(More customer reviews)Of course like any person who spends 300 bucks on something you expect it to perform admirably, while knowing full well that there are more expensive models out there. This little DV camera does quite the job. Starting from the packing all the way down to the technical features. In a world were you get less and less JVC seems to have done pretty well. Instructions for the camera come in 3 languages, all of the peripherals; lens cap, multi-voltage power plug, RCA cables, and straps are actually well designed and usable. The camera itself is quite user friendly, and intuitive. After opening and sorting the contents I had the camera up and recording in less than 5 minutes.
Pros:
1. Very fast rewind and fast forward.
2. Light weight, and compact.
3. Clear display that you can turn and flip in almost every direction
4. Great zoom features and very good recording quality.
Cons:
1. No DV tape included. I was smart enough to pick up a two pack at the same time.
2. If you have big hands it may be a little hard to manipulate.
3. Although I didn't buy a tripod, it looks as if you can't eject the tape while the camera is attached.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

With a lightweight design that's 30 percent smaller than previous models, the JVC GR-D250 MiniDV camcorder is an affordable choice for recording life's most important moments--from family gatherings to vacations. But it doesn't skimp on features, with a 25x optical zoom lens, large 2.5-inch swing-out LCD, and the NightAlive function for shooting in low-light conditions. The GR-D250 has a 680K-pixel CCD with 340K effective pixels for video, and it can capture still photos and store them onto the tape. Other features include electronic image stabilization, color viewfinder, Web camera functionality, Firewire, S-Video, and composite video out connections. It also offers manual control of white balance, shutter speed, and aperture focus.
The Clear-View LCD monitor suppresses diffusion of internal light to deliver a brighter image and also reduce reflection and glare from external light so that images are always clearly visible even when shooting outdoors in sunlight. The Data Battery function uses a new style of battery to communicate the remaining life to the camcorder, which will display the amount of time available both if the LCD is open and if it's closed with the press of one button on the camcorder battery.
The Super High-Band Processor that restores the high-band components of the luminance signal to ensure a crisp picture with 520 lines of resolution. The enhanced low-light sensitivity of the NightAlive function lets you capture clear, full-color night images without relying on infrared rays, which results in color images and no limit on the shooting range.
The GR-D250 measures 4.4 x 2.2 x 3.7-inches (L x W x H) and weighs 0.9 pounds.
