Pros = It does allow a cell phone to make calls, use internet etc.. It also works on Palm Treo Pro 850.
Cons = It doesn't actually charge the phone. The device must stay connected to device while using.
I bought it for emergency purposes only, cause I have been in places where i had no cell power source and had a completely dead battery. The device while connected allowed me to use my phone like normal, which mad me very happy until I could recharge.
This item gets a 5 star review based on 1 fact, in a pinch, with a dead battery the word "Emergency" is exactly what it is needed for. It did just that, gave me an emergency power source in a time of need. So in reality, the con isn't an issue with me at all.
