(More customer reviews)I got one of these chargers with four 2900 mah batteries as shown. I did several break-in charges and charging cycles on a Maha C9000 battery charger and analyzer and only got about 800 mah true capacity. So the batteries are junk (see all the bad reviews of these batteries when sold separately; I'm not the only one). The battery label doesn't even spell "rechargeable" correctly: "rechargerble".
The charger itself seems adequate. It charges at a rate of 450 ma which is fine since you don't want to charge batteries too fast, but it isn't "rapid": a 2000 mah battery will take more than 4 hours to charge. It cuts off when the batteries are charged (instead of just being on a dumb timer). However, it charges in pairs which isn't as good as smart chargers that charge cells individually.
Follow-up: I got the vendor to replace the bad batteries and the new ones were just as bad as the old ones. But now the charger is showing odd behavior: I put two discharged batteries in there. At 800 mah capacity and 450 ma charging, they should cut off in about two hours, but instead did not cut off for four hours. I put another pair of batteries in the other slot at about the 3-hour mark for the first pair. They charged in about an hour. I then discharged them in the Maha and measured 800 mah for the first pair and only 300 for the second pair. For some reason it had cut off early on the second pair while it had missed termination on the first pair (the crappy batteries may have played a a part in that). Therefore I can not recommend the charger or the batteries, but I can't change the number of stars in the review.
