(More customer reviews)Bottom line, IT WORKS. Don't try to compare it with a 400 buck flash that talks to the camera lightmeter. If you need more light than the built in flash on a camera that does not have a hot shoe this handle and flash will throw a lot of light. Addition details - the four batteries in the handle are only to trigger the flash shoe with 6 vts. They last forever (or swap them for the four in the flash base when the recycle time gets slow.) The rechargeable batteries are handy but a couple of 4 packs of regular AAA's in your camera bag is a good idea if you forgot to top off the batteries since the last time you used the flash. If you find the slight bend in the plastic support bar bothers you just put the grip right against the camera and hold the whole grip and camera together. Finally remember this handle makes the flash into a slave flash so it will fire if others are around you taking pics. If necessary you can easily put your left index finger over the sensor to temporarily deactivate slave flashing. It actually feels like it was designed that way! PS Don't drop it!
