Duracell AA Rechargeable Batteries, 2,450 mAh Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), Pack of Two Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I bought a box of these batteries for school. I charged some of the batteries and put them into a flash unit. I got 30 flashes before the batteries died. After some experimentation, I realized that the batteries come charged from the factory, but are not properly charged to full capacity. I first discharged the batteries then gave them a full charge. I tried the batteries in the flash unit a second time and got over 300 flashes before the recycle time started to get longer. I tried the same procedure on another set and got the same results. For those who have tried the batteries and thought they were underpowered, try recharging them a couple of times and see if that helps.
I made a discharge unit for the batteries by using a 4 cell AA battery holder and a 5v computer fan. The computer fan discharged the batteries slowly and stopped functioning before the batteries were thoroughly exhausted. Once discharged the batteries accepted a full charge.
I am really impressed with the batteries and will buy more when needed. The batteries will perform at their peak if they are discharged before charging them.
