Universal Lithium Ion (Li-on) Rechargeable & Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) Battery Charger - Dual Slot Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I needed a dual-slot charger for my 14500 rechargeable Li-Ion batteries (2 protected, 2 unprotected). It charges my unprotected batteries just fine, but not my protected batteries. Not sure why it wouldn't, possibly because of the battery's protection circuit, but either way, it doesn't charge them and that's an inconvenience because I'll have to buy a separate charger (or a different one altogether).
It charges my unprotected 14500's, not sure how fast though. An indicator light tells you when it's done, and if one slot is done charging.
The build quality is really low, so I can only assume the inner workings are also of poor quality. It makes a buzzing sound when it's charging, which has me kind-of concerned. After a full charge cycle, it didn't overheat or smell like burnt solder, so it does work even though it makes noises.
The springs are really firm and the spring-loaded adjustable negative leads feel loose and wobbly. The combination of firm springs with a wobbly lead makes it kind-of awkward to insert the batteries. Instead of being able to push the lead back with the battery, I had to pull it back with my fingers.
Overall, for the price, you can't expect much. It works, it's cheap, but I get the feeling I'll be buying a much nicer battery charger, especially since these batteries will be on the charger once or twice a day.
